Government College University holds reunion gala for alumni

LAHORE: Botanists from all across the country gathered at the reunion gala of the Alumni Association of the Government College University’s (GCU) Botany Department held at the GCU Bokhari Auditorium Lawns.
GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ikramul Haq was the chief guest of the event, which was marked by light music performances and poetry recitations by the faculty members as well as alumni of the GCU Botany Department.

Addressing the audience at the reunion gala, Professor Ikramul Haq said, “The importance of a teacher as an architect of our future generations demands that only the best and the most intelligent and competent members of our intelligentsia be allowed to qualify for this profession.”

Separately, the GCU alumni paid tribute to their teachers who taught them at the GCU and played an immense role in their character development. At the end of the ceremony, GCU Botany Department Chairperson Dr Zaheeruddin entertained the audience by singing a song on the special request of his former students.Daily times
