Moot on biotechnology on Saturday
Karachi The Pakistan Biotechnology Information Centre (PABIC) is going to organise a one-day seminar on "Application of Modern Biotechnology" on May 21 (Saturday) at 11am at the Latif Ebrahim Jamal (LEJ) National Science Information Centre of the University of Karachi (KU).
The event will also include the launching of ISAAA brief 42 and a press conference in the end of the seminar. Professor Dr Anwar Nasim, Adviser Science, COMSTECH and Director ICCBS Professor Dr M. Iqbal Choudhary along with other experts would brief a press conference just after the seminar at 1pm at the same venue (LEJ National Science Information Centre, KU).
The basic theme of this event, organised by PABIC, situated at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), KU, is to raise awareness about the tremendous potential of biotechnology commercialisation for the sustainable development of the economy of Pakistan.
Professor Dr Anwar Nasim, Adviser Science, COMSTECH, will be the chief guest, while Director ICCBS Professor Dr M. Iqbal Choudhary, Dr Faheem Tahir of National Institute of Health, Islamabad, President Pakistan Biological Safety Association Dr Erum Khan, Dr Qaiser Mahmood Khan of NIBGE and Dr Saifullah Khan of ICCBS will speak on the occasion.
