College shifting rejected
LAHORE, May 8: The Punjab government has reportedly rejected another request by Pakistan Navy to allow its War College in GOR.
The college was set up in a house of the GOR-I, 1 Broomhead Road, facing the Aitchison College on The Upper Mall in 1995, which the Punjab government intends to get vacated on what officials said on Saturday security reasons. The college was attacked by suicide bombers on March 4, 2008. Sources said a rent of Rs22.5 million had also been pending since 2002.
They said the college administration had been requested to shift it to a safer place in view of terror threats. The present site was exposed to dangers, they said.Dawn
