Young Doctors protest for 8th consecutive day in Quetta
QUETTA: Young doctors in Balochistan continued their province-wide strike at state-run hospitals for the eighth consecutive day on Saturday, demanding pay raise and other benefits equivalent to that being given to doctors performing similar duties in the federal capital. All the out-patients departments (OPDs) remained closed while scheduled operations were cancelled due to the strike. The people expressed their anger over the non-availability of doctors at OPDs. “The doctors and the government do not care about the suffering of people. Therefore, they are not paying any heed to this serious issue,” said a patient at Bolan Medical Complex, Muhammad Ashraf.Daily times
