Young doctors plan strike again in the outpatient and inpatient departments of all public sector hospitals

Young doctors plan strike
TAXILA, May 7: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has announced that its members will go on a strike again in the outpatient and inpatient departments of all public sector hospitals from May 11 if the Punjab government failed to meet their demands.

President YDA Taxila and Rawalpindi chapter Dr Imran Younus flanked by General Secretary Dr Ghulam Abbas told a press conference here that after organising a ‘save health convention’ in Lahore on Wednesday, the YDA took representatives of civil society, lawyers and politicians on board and gave one-week’s time to the government to accept their demands. “From May 11, the strike will start in OPDs and IPDs in Punjab; however, doctors in emergency wards, ICUs and critical areas will continue working as per routine.” “The YDA Punjab will also announce a date for the planned long march next week,” said Dr Imran.Dawn
