Around 50 schools from Lyari participated in a mela organised by the Lyari Resource Centre at the Kakri Ground on Saturday.
It is the first time that such an event has been organised in the area. There were some 60 stalls at the mela, and each one had been decorated by the students to depict cultures and traditions indigenous to Pakistan. Music could be heard all the way till the entrance, as Mohammad Ali Shaiki, a musician, played his renditions of traditional songs.
