Action urged over language lessons

THE British Council Scotland has stepped up its campaign to reverse cuts to foreign language teaching assistants in schools.

Officials from the organisation have written to Scotland's 32 local authorities urging them to employ more language assistants in schools.

The move comes amid concern reductions in the number of assistants is threatening to undermine Scotland's relationship with EU trading partners.
