PIMS achieves landmark with first-ever Osigraft implant

Islamabad

Professor Dr. Imran Sikander Khan, head of the Department of Orthopaedics at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), achieved a milestone by successfully implanting Osigraft in a patient with non-union of fractured femur here on December 26, 2011. This is the first-ever implant of its kind in Pakistan.

The procedure was performed on Tahir, a 22-year-old boy, who had had five surgeries for a fractured femur,
