From the bale plucker the fibres are pneumatically conveyed to the blowroom, which opens the tufts and removes all types of dust and impurities.
The material is fed, via an entry hopper, into the blowroom, in which there operates a cylindrical drum with a diameter of around 600 mm. (the drum can sometimes be cone-shaped). Its surface is covered with blunt steel spikes (Figure 1).
