Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has announced a gold medal for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for winning an Oscar award. According to the MQM, she will be given a rousing welcome followed by a reception when she returns to the country. Hussain stressed that Chinoy brought international attention to the menace of acid attacks on women in Pakistan. The party’s Rabita Committee said the government should appreciate talents bringing laurels to the country.
