Urdu Bazaar Shopkeepers stays shut in protest against extortion mafia in the city’s busiest book market,

Shopkeepers of the city’s busiest book market, the Urdu Bazaar, shut their businesses on Monday to protest against extortion slips being received by them.

The shopkeepers informed The News that threats had been issued to them for weeks and, despite complaints to the Preedy police, no steps had been taken yet to provide them with protection.
