Dr Khalil Chishty, who was recently released by India after 20 years of incarceration, will be leading a proposed virus control centre at the University of Karachi (KU).
The university has been planning to set up a ‘Vector-borne Viral Disease Control and Surveillance Centre’, owing to rapid spread of multiple virus ranging from influenza to dengue in the city and other parts of the country, and Dr Chishty agreed to run it, said Pro Vice Chancellor of KU Dr Shahana
