Life in today’s humdrum, materialistic world, with its symbols of distorted affluence and jinxed notions of progress keeps us all too tightly bound to matters mundane, where we are totally divorced from nature, from the handiwork of creation, and from matters other-worldly.
As such, it was a pleasant experience viewing an exhibition of Col (retd) Zahid Iqbal’s paintings, based on the humanistic and mystical poetry of the 13th century Muslim scholar
