Briefly: Education: Number of Chinese Taking National Exam Falls Again

The exam, which was held from Friday to Sunday, was taken by 9.12 million students, or 30,000 fewer than last year. The number of test-takers peaked in 2008 at 10.5 million, according to the Ministry of Education. </P>According to the ministry, nearly one million students who were eligible to take the gaokao in 2010 decided against it.
