Nadra restrained from tendering for Pak smart cards

ISLAMABAD, June 4: The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday restrained the National Database and Registration Authority from initiating tenders for the issuance of 20 million smart cards after a bidder filed a petition alleging irregularities in the process.

Last year, Nadra had launched the 3rd generation chip-based smart card project. The card has over 36 physical security features and uses the latest encryption codes making it one of the safest in the world.
