ISLAMABAD : The finance division has failed to release the fourth quarter grant to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), putting the public sector universities especially newly established ones in dire financial straits.
The HEC chairperson wrote a letter to the finance secretary on Wednesday to resolve the issue otherwise the universities will not be able to pay June salaries to faculty members and staff, Dawn has learnt.
