senior lawyer and human rights activist, Hassam Qadir Shah, dies of lymphoma (a type of blood cancer)

LAHORE, A senior lawyer and human rights activist, Hassam Qadir Shah, died of lymphoma (a type of blood cancer) on Tuesday. He was 44.

His funeral was held in Sargodha. He was the son of late lawyer Syed Ahsan Qadir Shah, a member of the PPP central executive committee and one of the counsels in Z.A Bhutto trial.

Advocate Hassam Shah was also an expert in criminal law and had many high profile cases to his credit. He had also defended one of the victims of US contractor Raymond
