Gran proves a class act to scoop learner award

A GRANDMOTHER who was unemployed for eight years has scooped a top learner’s award after going to university to turn her life around.

Pauline Thomas, 52, from Maerdy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, was rewarded for her “outstanding academic progress” at the Welsh Housing Awards after completing three years of training to seek a new career in the housing industry.
