Festivities bring fireworks back to capital

Islamabad: Fireworks returned to the federal capital after 11 long years as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) displayed a fine show of pyrotechnics on Tuesday night to celebrate the 66th Independence Day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan with traditional zeal, fervour and a renewed commitment to make the motherland prosperous and impregnable.

The then government of the Punjab had banned the sale and purchase of firecrackers from the safety point of view. The ban was sporadically violated
