The Punjab government is finally preparing the Right to Education Bill for legislation in the wake of insertion of Article 25-A in the Constitution which makes free and compulsory schooling a fundamental right.
Ever since the insertion of Article 25-A in the Constitution through the 18th Amendment a couple of years back, academic circles, NGOs working in education and members of civil society have been demanding the provincial governments to take up the matter
