KARACHI: The total forest coverage area in Pakistan has shrunk considerably due to urbanization, farming, overgrazing, global warming, and tourism development, and deforestation can lead to desertification and aridity.
Vice Chancellor of Karachi University Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, expressed these views while addressing the Plantation Day organised by the Department of Public Administration (DPA) here on Thursday. The plantation campaign was to mark the International Forest Day.
