ISLAMABAD : The tug of war over the autonomy of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has not ended with the departure of the PPP government.
During the previous government, the Ministry of Education and Training (MET) tried to bring the HEC under its control but could not do so on the intervention of the apex court of the country.
Now the finance division has informed the HEC that in future grants would be released to it through the ministry of education.
