Struggling to cope with emergency situations, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has planned establishment of a purpose-made modern and spacious mortuary on the premises.
Currently, PIMS keeps bodies coming in mostly from Islamabad and Potohar region for examination and dissection to determine cause of death at a small building, which previously housed horses. The building was turned into mortuary as a stopgap arrangement until a proper dead room
