LAHORE: All the political parties have announced their manifestos before the upcoming general election 2013, calling for a massive increase in the education budget by increasing the
ratio of GDP.
In the 2012 budget, Pakistan spent around 1.5 percent of GDP in the education sector, making it a country with one of the lowest spending on education. In 2009 Pakistan spent 2.7 percent on education,
making it 155th in the global list of countries.
