The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative has expressed deep concern over the programme’s weak grip on communication and social mobilisation in key endemic areas, including Pakistan. “The polio programme and its vaccine are subjects seen with increasing negativity,” the 54-page report flags with a mention of inability to neutralise the negativity surrounding the polio vaccine, and failure to generate more genuine demand for it
