Modern education in Malakand Division has been neglected by the elected members and officials of education department. The foundation of education in Malakand division was laid down in Thana, Malakand Agency in 1912 in the shape of a primary school which was upgraded to high level in 1932. It is a matter of great concern that today Malakand Division is the most backward area when it comes to education.
