No let-up in smuggling of peahen’s eggs, chicks Social activists wildlife department

MITHI, Social activists have urged the wildlife department to curb unabated and unchecked smuggling of chicks and eggs of peahen from Thar.

They have called for stern measures to stop the unlawful activity which was in violation of game laws.

Social workers of Ali Akbar Rahumo, Bharumal Amrani and Alim Soomro told Dawn on Sunday that it was breeding season of peahens and despite the ban, some vested interests and influential poachers had been taking chicks and eggs of peahens secretly
