Q. Were you in leadership roles early on? A. I played a lot of basketball — including Division I for the University of Washington — and was always either a captain of the team or the guy who would go behind the scenes as the sergeant-at-arms with anyone who misbehaved. I’ve always been a team guy, so if anyone decided that they were going to kind of go rogue or take an individual approach, I was always the person the team would look to and say: “Go talk to him.
