Teachers demand lifting ban on recruitment

LAHORE: Vice-chancellors of the public sector universities have reiterated their demand urging the government to lift ban on the appointment in higher education institutions since it was proving a hurdle in the smooth functioning of universities. They said promotions of many teachers to the next cadre were pending and the ban was a hurdle in the promotion of teachers because teachers are promoted after following a procedure of giving advertisements in the newspapers and then selection process.
