Line losses feeding circular debt, leading to costly power independent power distributors (IPPs)

LAHORE, The government risks piling up unpaid bills of private power companies unless it substantially reduces massive transmission and distribution losses and checks power theft. Alternately, it will be compelled to raise electricity prices at the expense of the consumers, according to officials of a couple of independent power distributors (IPPs).

Though the government is regularly paying the price of electricity bought from IPPs ever since it liquidated their previous outstanding bills
