The Punjab School Education Department has declared corporal punishment an offence on part of the teachers and has brought many instructors to the book but regrettably a significant proportion of officials, teachers, heads and even family members still support it.
This undesirable attitude has been revealed in a countrywide study “Stopping the Fear: Why Teachers Use Corporal Punishment” conducted by the Plan International Pakistan, which was launched last week in Lahore.
