Karachi Around 17 percent of children aged between five and 11 studying in Karachi’s primary schools suffer from one or more common child psychiatric disorder, a study has revealed.
Behavioural disorders were the most common (10.2 percent), followed by anxiety disorders (4.2 percent) and mood disorders (2.9 percent). Among the individual disorders, the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was the most commonly diagnosed (5.5 percent), followed by oppositional defiant disorder
