MANSEHRA: The eighth anniversary of the October 8, 2005 earthquake, which had claimed more than 38,000 lives in northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is being observed today.
A tremor, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, hit northern parts of the province on this day about eight years ago, destroying Balakot city. More than 30,000 people were killed in Balakot alone. The total death in the country stood at almost 75,000.
The survivors of Balakot red zone would also hold a protest
