COLUMN: The story of Angaray’s publication provocative book in the history of Urdu literature
The most provocative book in the history of Urdu literature was a collection of 10 short stories published in December 1932 in Lucknow, under the title Angaray. The publication caused a lot of tension. Muslims in particular were in a state of fury as the stories appeared outrageous to their religious sensitivities.
