MINGORA: A fire gutted a girls’ school in Shaplin area in Khwazakhela tehsil in Swat district late Friday night, police officials said on Saturday.
The watchman of the Government Girls Primary School initially reported to the police that unidentified persons had set the school on fire.
“During questioning, he confessed that the fire actually erupted due to a short-circuiting and he invented the story to save his own skin,” said District Police Officer (DPO) Sher Akbar Khan. Locals
