Study identifies DNA markers of city’s five ethnic communities Hamdard University

KARACHI, A recently conducted study has identified certain DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) markers from five ethnic communities of Karachi which, according to the researchers, could help in investigation.

The study, a model-based ‘varimax’ sampling strategy for a heterogeneous population, has appeared in the online edition of Annals of Human Biology, a journal of the Society for the Study of Human Biology (UK).

The study was conducted by Dr Nuzhat A. Akram, a teacher of forensic medicine
