Islamabad Constructed at a cost of Rs1.26 million, the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the Cardiac Centre at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) finally became a reality on Tuesday.
The project, which was approved in December 2004, presents a classic example of how bureaucratic and administrative hurdles can stall progress on public health initiatives that are so crucially needed to save lives.
