LAHORE, The report of a blood sample confirmed on Thursday that Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (Congo fever) was the cause of the death of a man who had breathed his last at Shaikh Zayed Hospital some five days back.
Communicable Disease Control Director Dr Jafar Ilyas said Shafiq was referred to SZH from a health facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was suspected to be a patient of Congo virus and his blood samples were sent to NIH.
