Translator laments treatment meted out to Mir’s Persian poetry and translations,

KARACHI, It took the organisers at the Second Floor six years to get him to speak about his work. It finally happened this Saturday. Renowned for his poetry and translations, Afzal Ahmed Syed is a soft-spoken person, who is happy to keep a low profile rather than answering questions in front of an audience.

Interviewed by writer Asif Farrukhi, it seemed that the host and the audience present at the event were more interested in his work than the writer himself.
