NOWSHERA: All Teachers Association Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Tuesday threatened to launch province-wide protest against the suspension of nine teachers.
The threat was hurled at a meeting of the teachers association, which was attended by representatives of the association from all the districts of the province.
The participants of the meeting said District Education Officer Muhammad Aziz Ali had deprived the teachers of their democratic right, adding that teachers had been punished for highlighting corruption in the Education Department.
They said the teachers were suspended for exposing the blue-eyed officer of the DEO.The teachers alleged Assistant District Officer Salim and some other officials were involved in corruption and the teachers had exposed them, which enraged the high-ups in the department.
They asked the provincial government to take notice of the illegal action of the EDO and order an inquiry for identifying corrupt elements in the department and their termination from services.
