ISLAMABAD: The qualifying round of the painting contest Dosti Kay Rang was organised at the main campus of National Institute of Cultural Studies (NICS) on Wednesday.
As many as 16 teams participated in the qualifying round, out of which six teams were selected for the final round to be held in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
An official of NICS told Dawn that in the next round a large canvas would be provided to the participants to paint on various issues.
The aim of the contest is to highlight issues of the people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and to create awareness among people about the problems faced by those living in Fata, he said.
“A large number of people encouraged the participants who spent hours painting different sceneries,” the official said.
