Sons of slain cops demand job in police posts of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) forthwith

PESHAWAR: The families of the slain cops on Tuesday asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani to appoint their sons to Jobs the posts of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) forthwith.

Speaking at a press conference, Safdar, Fawad Ali, Adnan Khurram, Shah Zaib, Khalid Usman, Ikramullah and Saddam said the provincial government and Police Department had not made such appointments during the last five years.

They said out of the 166 slain cops, sons of 36 martyred personnel had been appointed as ASI in January. The relatives said under the “Shuhada Package,” the sons of the cops killed in 1996, 2006 and 2007 had been ignored while sons of those killed in 2012 and 2013 had been appointed as ASI.

“We have learnt that the sons of the remaining slain cops would be appointed as constables in the Police Department though they deserve to be appointed as ASI,” Adnan Khurram said.

They said the policemen had rendered the supreme sacrifice of life for the nation and their sons’ appointment as police constables was a joke and an injustice with the martyred cops and their families.
