LAHORE IN order to review the security arrangements on the occasion of Youth Festival which is going to be held in Lahore this week, a high level meeting was held on Friday at Central Police Office Lahore.
Addl: IGP Special Branch Punjab Muhammad Amlish, CCPO Lahore Chaudhry Shafique Gujjar, DIG Operations Lahore Rana Abdul Jabbar, CTO Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Sohail, SSP Waqar Abbasi and other officers of the CPO attended the meeting. The CCPO Lahore briefed the IGP about the steps being adopted regarding security and traffic arrangements for the event. It was decided in the meeting that 12 thousand police officers/officials including Elite, Training, Special Branch, Police Qaumi Razakar and one thousands Traffic Wardens will perform their duties at the festival. Provincial Police Chief directed the CCPO Lahore to personally monitor the security arrangements so that general public should attend this festival without any fear.
Meanwhile, a 20-member Lahore traders’ delegation headed by Chairman Waqar Hussain met with Inspector General of Police Punjab Khan Baig at his office. Other members of the delegation included Safdar Butt, Waqar Hussain, Khalid Pervaiz, Ch. Muhammad Fayyaz, Haji Manzoor, Haji Liaquat Saithi, Yasir Abbas, Saleem Arshad, Shahid Bilal, Azhar Shah, Mehboob Sarki, Ch. Ejaz, Ahad Khan, Malik Kaleem, Zahid Khan, Rana Azam, Nadeem Sheikh, Taimoor Butt, Khalid Javaid, Younas Baig and Haji Baghi Khan.
The delegation apprised the Provincial Police Chief of the problems and difficulties being faced by them at their business places. They requested the IGP to restore the Reconciliation Committees for the constant liaison and better coordination between the business community and the police.
