KARACHI (INP): Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khoro said that out of 49,000 educational institutions in Sindh only 48 thousand are functional and crackdown against ghost schools will be launched soon. Talking to media persons here on Friday, Nisar Khoro said that out of Rs132 billion budget of Sindh education department, Rs110 billion were being spent on salaries and privileges. He said that a ban has been imposed on opening new schools in Sindh and ghost schools will be made functional. The education minister said that provincial government desires to improve quality and standard of education in accordance with the new policy instead of opening new institutions the existing ones would be functionalized. Nisar Khorro warned that crackdown on ghost schools and employees would be initiated soon.
