demanded for zero-rated sales tax facility Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA)

PTEA for zero-rated sales tax facility

FAISALABAD: The Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) has demanded zero-rated sales tax facility, saying it will help restore the competitive edge in the international markets for Pakistani textile.

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, PTEA vice-chairman Adil Tahir said that zero-rating withdrawal had adversely affected exports at a time when a huge amount of Sales Tax Refunds were already stuck up with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and exporters were facing liquidity crunch. “The zero-rated facility was intended to save the textile exporters from sales tax refund regime,” he said, adding that the facility was withdrawn by the FBR and sales tax was imposed.
