DEBATE: The University College Lahore (UCL) and Punjab University debaters on Monday won the English and Urdu debates competition, respectively, at the four-day fifth annual Forman Parliamentary Debating Championship (FPDC) at Forman Christian College.
The English debating finalists competed on a motion “The house believes that political Islam is a threat to the West.” The UCL team defeated the Government College University (GCU) team in the English debates finals.
In Urdu debating finals, the Punjab University team defeated the GCU team. The topic of the debate was on “Is aewan ki rae mein askari adaron ki ayeen shikni mumlikat se baghawat nai”.
Meanwhile, the PU students have won team trophy in All-Pakistan Inter-Universities English declamation contest held at Lahore College for Women University. BISE: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Muhammad Nasrullah Virk has earned doctorate’s degree in political science from the University of Education, Lahore.
Mr Virk has been awarded the PhD degree on the basis of his thesis “A critical study of application of law of necessity in Pakistan.” Eminent lawyer Dr Khalid Ranjha was the supervisor of Mr Virk.
