ISLAMABAD: In our story “HEC chairman selection raises major questions after violations of merit” published on February 10, 2014, the name of current acting Chairman of HEC Imtiaz Hussain Gilani was inadvertently published as Iftikhar Hussain Gilani.It is hereby clarified that former Law Minister and noted Supreme Court lawyer Iftikhar Hussain Gilani has nothing to do with that story as he has never been a candidate for the HEC chairmanship nor did he hold the office of Vice Chancellor of any university. All the facts mentioned and references made in the story were related to Imtiaz Hussain Gilani and not Iftikhar Hussain Gilani. The error is regretted.
