Past Tense Asian Study Group led a group tour to the Gudwara Punjab Saheb in Hassanabdal

The Asian Study Group led a group tour to the Gudwara Punjab Saheb in Hassanabdal. The entrance to the gurdwara is nondescript and one barely notices the thick, bulletproof metal door. Upon entering, however, the large expanse of open space, surrounded by a circular white perimeter of rooms, balconies, etc., is nothing short of breathtaking.


In the center of this large encircled courtyard lies the gurdwara. The building is small, and has a moat of clear water surrounding it, filled with fish that are surprisingly large, most over one foot long. Legend has it that whoever kills one of these fish will suffer terrible misfortune, and so, these fish have lived unharmed for years.
