OWING to day-to-day steep rise in the cost of living and unemployment, an overwhelming majority of educated people, mostly youths, cannot afford to buy newspapers, particularly English ones, on a daily basis.
To enlighten their knowledge and to keep themselves aware of current global affairs, as well as to make them aware of job opportunities in various organisations, it is suggested that newspaper managements should reduce the cost of newspapers by half after 6pm so that the ‘Aam Aadmi’ is able to take benefit from the scheme.
Owing to this incentive, the management of newspapers shall seek extra mileage to generate revenue. In this regard, the All Pakistan Newspaper Society should also consider the scheme on humanitarian grounds.
