MINGORA: The Swat district administration and an NGO on Tuesday jointly organised a walk to create awareness among people about preventive measures against dengue. It started from the deputy commissioner’s office in Saidu Sharif and ended outside the Swat Press Club.
Swat deputy commissioner Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah led the walk, which was also participated by students and representatives of district clerks association.
The participants carried banners and placards inscribed with different slogans and messages about how to control dengue fever during summer season.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Imtiaz Shah said that it was collective responsibility of people to take preventive measures against the epidemic, adding that dengue could better be defeated by removing stagnant water.
